Donna Shines grew up in Caldwell, Idaho and after finishing high school, intentionally attended three colleges in four years to learn, travel, meet new people and find adventure. She finished at Boise State University.
Her work experience includes: swimming instructor; fitness and wellness specialist and trainer at the Boise Family YMCA; long time volunteer for various community benefit organizations; business management; teacher of special education; and her current adventure facilitating school-based mentoring in Canyon & Owyhee counties as the Executive Director/CEO for The Mentoring Network over the past 13 years.
Donna leads from the middle, asking questions that bring out the best in herself and others. She enjoys building stronger communities by taking time to build and model collective enough-ness through strong relationships. She brings boundless energy, enthusiasm and simplicity to building a culture of mentoring in communities that can be modeled by individuals of all ages.
A great day is one spent on the lake paddling her kayak, being with family, and taking time to hear people's stories.
